Sub-Species
You’re a scavenger piloting a small salvage submarine that must journey into the deepest trenches of the ocean and blasting enormous sea monsters into oblivion. Kicking ass and saving the World, now how could that not be fun? Sub-Species is a 2.5D Shooter for the PC, in which your submarine can rotate 360° in order to blast alien sea monsters that will be coming at you from all angles.
The world is being over run with aliens every since a meteor crashed into the ocean. You must venture into the deepest trenches of our oceans and blast your way past some seriously nasty monsters to recover fragments of the meteor that is spawning these alien creatures
With the monsters coming at you from everywhere you must spin your craft around 360° to engage in combat. You will need to scavenge supplies and weapons for your sub from the sunken wrecks that litter the ocean floor.

History
Howling Hamster started out as 2 guys squashed into a nephew’s dining room trying to make a game. Basically we are living the dream.
Trevor the artist and Manus the programmer got together in 2014 and started knocking around the idea for the game we are currently working on called Sub-Species. We spent a couple of months getting some basic ideas, artwork and mechanics sorted out. Then, when we figured that we had something good, we took the plunge and begged the unused dining room in Manus’s nephew’s house. We moved in the equipment, 3 computers, a microphone and our trusty little 2 bar heater to keep winter at bay and spent our 1st year there.
The after a 6 month period in the Bank of Ireland's incubation space, StartLab, we are now based in the Galway Gaming Hub, along side 3 other games and animation companies.
